Printing GREEN
At Delmarva Printing Inc., we take our impact on the local and global environment seriously. So when we planned our new facility, it was important that all of our equipment and processes be as environmentally responsible as possible. We strive to keep our environmental footprint as small and light as we possibly can.
What does going green mean to you?
With us it starts in our pre-press department, which is totally chemical free: no wastewater, no chemicals to dispose of or recycle, no VOCs.
In our pressroom, we use water-based coatings and vegetable-based inks exclusively. And we don’t use alcohol in our dampening solution.
We also recycle the (VOC-free) heat exhaust from our press drying section to help heat our building. It saves us money, but more importantly, reduces our fuel consumption.
Nearly all the paper we print on has recycled content, and we recycle all our waste trimmings, old boxes, and aluminum plates with a local recycling company.
Our delivery vehicles are the newest, most fuel-efficient available in their type.
